 Community Partners Wellness Center offers a comprehensive variety of health and wellness programs to help you proactively manage your health care and achieve optimal health and quality of life through wellness, fitness, and health education programs. Medical science increasingly shows strong links between lifestyle choices and health. Wellness is an active process of becoming aware of, and making choices for, a lifestyle designed to realize one's highest potential for wholeness and well being.

Many Community Partners programs/screenings are FREE. For programs that have a fee, there is a sliding scale available to any participant who is unable to afford the full cost of the program.

» Body-Mind Medicine (More Info)
Meditation Instruction "Meditation is learning to listen to the quiet." Medical studies are affirming the benefits of a personal meditation practice. It can be done for a group or the individual. You will receive personal instruction on meditation and other tools that can shift your life and facilitate your own personal healing.
Energy Work Session The energy and physical body affect each other. This session will assist you when your energy seems scattered and depleted. A rebalancing will facilitate a refocusing, and imbalances are smoothed then replenished. The session can bring a sense of well-being and a decrease in pain and anxiety. $10 off first visit.

Cancer Screenings Through Community Partners' "Cancer Services Program," you can get cancer screenings at low cost or no cost. Cancer screenings available include: Mammography & CBE for breast cancer Pap and pelvic exams for cervical cancer Colorectal tests and exams for colorectal cancer. Prostate Cancer screening (usually in the Fall) If you are between the ages of 50 & 64 without health insurance or with high deductibles, you can receive $25 when your FREE screenings are completed.

Cancer Support Group The "Share and Care" Cancer Support Group meets at Lakewood Village, Maple Ridge Road, Medina. All support groups are FREE and are held the 1st Monday of each month at 3:30 pm.
Look Good....Feel Better Look Good....Feel Better is a free program to help women undergoing cancer treatment learn to cope with the appearance-related side effects of treatment and regain a sense of self-confidence and control over their lives. Our Clinical Dietetics Department helps people maintain good health with good nutrition. Highly qualified Clinical Dietitians provide nutritional assessments, and develop, plan, and monitor nutritional care. Various services are available to hospital patients, nursing home residents, dialysis patients, medical rehabilitation patients and outpatients. Diabetes Education - One-On-One One-on-One sessions on diabetes are available through Community Partners by appointment. Your counselor will be Marion Miano, RN, CDE; an expert in diabetes care. Diabetes Education 12-Hour Program If you or a loved one has diabetes, this 4-session program is for you. Called "Living Well With Diabetes," this program teaches you about the 4 pillars of diabetes care (diet/nutrition, physical activity, blood glucose monitoring, and medication). You'll gain information and tips that are practical and presented in clear and simple language. The program is held at Community Partners. Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program P.A.C.E. (People With Arthritis Can Exercise) A terrific program for people with arthritis, but want to stay active. Medina classes are held in 8-week sessions, every Tuesday at Community Partners at 415 West Avenue, Medina. The instructor is Karen Matusak, certified instructor. Exercise For People 55 And Older (Wellness Works) A program called "Wellness Works" is an exercise program for people 55 and older. The program includes an individual exercise assessment by a physical therapist, resulting in your own customized exercise plan. Join "A Healthier U" and receive your first month free.

Pilates/Yoga - Get It Now....Say hello to a fitter you! The only workout that can truly change your body is the one you'll do, and the one you love because it makes you feel and look your best. Well, here's a program you'll want to stick with! The Yoga/Pilates class is an effective way to slim and strenthen your core, but it can also define your body. This 45 minute mat routine defines your arms and upper body as it strengthens your core, improves your posture and tightens you all over. Call Community Partners at 798-6641 for registration. Breastfeeding Education for Pregnant and Nursing Mothers Breastfeeding is the best gift you can give your baby. Medina Memorial Health Care System is an advocate for breastfeeding. Elaine Smith RNC,IBCLC is available to educate and support pregnant and nursing mothers to help you achieve a successful breastfeeding experience.

Childbirth Education First baby? Second baby? Childbirth education helps a mother (and father) prepare for a new arrival. You'll get information on your baby's development in utero; nutritional needs for you and your baby; the value of exercise; ways to reduce stress and handle labor and delivery, and much more. Classes run for 8 weeks and are held in Medina at Community Partners at 415 West Ave., Medina (old Moose Club). Caregiver's Support Group A support group is made up of family members and friends who are giving care to a loved one who is chronically ill or disabled. Although those participating in the group begin as strangers, they quickly become friends as they share experience. Meeting focus on providing emotional support, tips for coping with behavior issues and sharing experiences. We keep the group small creating a comfortable atmosphere. Meetings are confidential. What is discussed...stays here. Meetings are held the 3rd Tuesday of every month from 3 pm-4:30 pm at the Albion Academy (old Grammar school) on East Academy Street the south entrance. Stroke Support Group Following a stroke, there are many adjustments to make. Often group members help each other with encouragement, tips, and information. A Stroke Support Group meets in Medina at Lake Plains Physical Therapy, West Center Street Extension. All support groups are FREE. Call Community Partners for more information.
