 Patient focused hospitals like Medina Memorial are keenly aware of the importance of psychosocial support for patients, families, and staff. Professional chaplains, who are educated, ordained or commissioned, and endorsed by their faith communities are part of our multidisciplinary care team.
Chaplains are trained to help people to identify, affirm, and use their own beliefs, religious and human values, faith community, and faith in God to support, sustain, and inform them in times of crisis and need.
Volunteer Chaplains visit on a rotating basis, according to assigned weeks. The also visit patients and families requesting a Chaplain visit, and are on call via beeper for emergencies.
The hospital chapel is available for meeting with families of patients.
