Designated Stroke Center by New York State Department of Health
Stroke Center Designation assures patients that Medina Memorial Hospital meets the State’s stringent guidelines for stroke care. This includes being seen by a physician within 15 minutes of arrival in the ER; receiving a CT scan within 25 minutes; interpretation of CT results in 45 minutes; lab results in 45 minutes; and clot busting drugs within 60 minutes of arrival or 3 hours of symptom onset.
Joint Commission Accreditation
Medina Memorial Health Care System chooses to be regularly evaluated by the Joint Commission to show our commitment to providing the highest level of care to our patients. We have continually been awarded the Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval - the highest honor - by demonstrating compliance to the most stringent standards of performance.
Accreditation requires that the hospital undergo an extensive, unannounced, on-site review conducted by the Joint Commission at least once every three years. The purpose of the review is to evaluate the hospital's performance in areas that affect patient care. Accreditation is awarded based on how well the hospital has met the Joint Commission standards. Joint Commission Accreditation for Laboratories
The Joint Commission Laboratory Accreditation requires that the lab undergo an extensive, unannounced, on-site review conducted by the Joint Commission at least once every two years. The purpose of the review is to evaluate the laboratory’s performance in aspects of its daily operation and its impact on the quality of healthcare provided to patients. Accreditation is awarded based on how well the laboratory has met the Joint Commission standards. Voluntary Joint Commission accreditation demonstrates that an organization has made a commitment to quality patient care.

Commission on Accreditation for Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF)
Medina Memorial Hospital's nationally accredited Comprehensive Medical Rehabilitation program is the only facility in the eight counties of western New York accredited by the prestigious Commission on Accreditation for Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). Voluntary CARF accreditation demonstrates that an organization has made a commitment to meet nationally recognized standards for quality and to continually seek excellence in its services and programs.

 Certification of Echocardiography-ICAEL
The purpose of the ICAEL is "to ensure high quality patient care and to promote healthcare by providing a mechanism to encourage and recognize the provision of quality echocardiographic diagnostic evaluations by a process of voluntary accreditation." Through the accreditation process, laboratories assess every aspect of daily operation and its impact on the quality of health care provided to patients. Because accreditation is renewed every three years, a long-term commitment to quality and self-assessment is developed and maintained.

Certification of Nuclear Medicine - ICANL
The purpose of the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Nuclear Medicine Laboratories is "to ensure high quality patient care and to promote health care by providing a mechanism to encourage and recognize the provision of quality nuclear cardiology and nuclear medicine diagnostic evaluations with a process of voluntary accreditation." Through the accreditation process, our Nuclear Medicine Department assessed every aspect of its daily operation and its impact on the quality of healthcare provided to patients. Voluntary ICANL accreditation demonstrates that an organization has made a commitment to meet nationally recognized standards for quality and to continually seek excellence in its services and programs.

Accreditation of Computed Tomography- ACR
Medina Memorial HealthCare System was awarded a three-year accreditation in computed tomography (CT) by the American College of Radiology (ACR). ACR awards accreditation to facilities that meet high national standards for quality and service. To be considered for ACR accreditation, Medina Memorial Hospital voluntarily submitted to a rigorous review of all aspects of its CT service. Voluntary ACR accreditation demonstrates that an organization has made a commitment to quality patient care.

Accreditation of Ultrasound- ACR
Medina Memorial HealthCare System was awarded a three-year accreditation in ultrasound by the American College of Radiology (ACR). ACR awards accreditation to facilities that meet high national standards for quality and service. To be considered for ACR accreditation, Medina Memorial Hospital’s Ultrasound Department voluntarily submitted to a rigorous review of all aspects of its daily operation and its impact on the quality of healthcare provided to patients. Voluntary ACR accreditation demonstrates that an organization has made a commitment to meet nationally recognized standards for quality and to continually seek excellence in its services and programs.
